Application & Offering: Playwright Residency 2010

Freedom Train Productions is now accepting applicants for our Playwright Residency 2010 cadre who show a commitment to our citizen theatre artist values. This opportunity is open to black identified writers. The residency begins in January 2010 and lasts through August 2010. It entails:

- New work development and intensive workshops;
- Artist and community dialogue; and
- Performance of new work throughout the year, including FIRE! New Festival 2010.

Freedom Train Productions is a theatre and a movement. We organize theatre artists and audience communities around a common purpose: centering black queer protagonists in struggles that matter to all. In this residency, the playwrights will be charged with writing new work featuring such a protagonist or protagonists.
