Our Citizen Theatre
UNDERGROUND STUDIO has two tracks: the development of new work by professional and emerging artists and another track focusing on nurturing theatrical creativity in our audience community.
The theatre's unique new work development approach is lead by producing artists and it is influenced by their background in black arts aesthetics, art activism, movement, somatics, Group Theatre, Chekhov, Viewpoints, Suzuki, and collaborative theatre approaches. Guests artists invited by the producing artists are brought in to further the development of the work and processes.
PERFORMANCE AND PRODUCTION encompasses our staged reading/workshop production work, including FIRE! New Play Festival, Spring Fire, Offstage Forums, and other theatre performance and artist/community dialetics. Up next.
